MUMBAI, Nov. 13: On Saturday, not only the father (his name is also AB de Villiers, but doctor by profession) and family members of South African batsman AB de Villiers will be present at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore where the right-handed middle order Test batsman would be playing his 100th Test match but the CSA (Cricket South Africa) officials are in India to boost his morale on the occasion.
“Our CEO (Haroon Lorgat) and the Vice President are already in India and I shall be reaching there tonight”, the President Chris Nenzani, speaking exclusively over telephone from Johannesburg airport, said on Friday afternoon.
“We can not disclose how AB de will be felicitated tomorrow but a special gift is awaiting him”, the CSA chief added.
It is not known how the South African batsman would be felicitated by the Indian cricket board or the team but it is needless to say that Virat Kohli’s men would be eager to spoil his 100th Test party.
Jacues Kallis holds the South African record for playing most number of Test matches (166), whereas Sachin Tendulkar tops the list with 200 appearance followed by Australia’s Ricky Ponting and Steve Waugh (both 168 Tests).
