A six-month-old baby was found dead Tuesday evening about 19 hours, in a stream between the villages of Reisdorf and Eppeldorf Luxembourg. The mother, who had raised an abduction of her child, was arrested and placed in custody, reported Wednesday the Luxembourg newspaper Le Quotidien.
The baby’s mother had said Tuesday, around noon, her baby was kidnapped by a stranger in the street.
The alert of the kidnapping caused a broad mobilization of the Grand Ducal police and emergency services to find the child and suspected abductor.
Taken to the police to be heard on the circumstances of the abduction, the mother of the child would have changed several times her version of incident, according to The Daily. The investigators, intrigued by the woman’s profile considered depressed, quickly considered other tracks as the kidnapping.
The baby’s body was found around 19 hours. The circumstances of the tragedy have yet been clarified.
