PESHAWAR: At least five people were killed while eight others injured in a blast inside Shah Nawaz football ground in Faqeerabad area of Peshawar.
The rescue teams rushed to the site soon after the incident while law enforcement agencies cordoned off the blast site.
The dead and the injured were shifted to Lady Reading hospital. According to hospital sources, eight people were injured in the attack.
One of the witnesses said that an unknown person entered the ground and opened firing before the blast.
A search operation by security forces is also underway.
Meanwhile, the target and nature of the blast wasn’t known till the filing of the report.
No group has claimed responsibility of the blast as yet.
