KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Health, Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that during last 15 days as many as 346 people have been diagnosed with Dengue Virus while one man has been diagnosed with Dengue plus Congo Virus in Karachi.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, he said that in current year, 1,732 patients affected by Dengue Virus were brought to the hospitals, out of which 1687 patients belonged to Karachi and the remaining 45 patients were brought from other parts of Sindh province.
The Health Minister said that Sadar Khan from New Karachi, a butcher by profession, is diagnosed with Dengue plus Congo virus, the patient has been admitted in isolation ward of Civil Hospital Karachi and he is now in stable condition.
He said that a campaign against Dengue virus is going on and in next phase the drive will be launched in Badin, Sanghar, Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan and Shaheed Benazirabad districts.
Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has also taken notice of shortage of lady doctors in the government hospitals of district Badin and directed Special Secretary Health to look into the matter and also keep an eye on absent doctors in Civil hospital Shikarpur.
The doctors and paramedics are bound to perform their duties honestly and no negligence will be tolerated in this regard, he concluded.
