PESHAWAR: District administration expended the ongoing crackdown on profiteers to the suburban localities of the city and arrested 22 profiteers from Sarband area.
According to details, the residents of Sarband have registered complaints with the Complaints Cell of the Deputy Commissioner regarding price hike and selling of meat on holiday.
On these complaints, Deputy Commissioner directed Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC) Altaf Hussain for taking action.
The AAC along with police personnel of the concerned police station conducted raids and arrested 22 persons which also included butchers selling meat on holiday.
Meanwhile district administration also arrested 17 chicken sellers from Bacha Khan Chowk and Pajagi Road for violation and lacking of price list.
