SHIKARPUR: Two police constables martyred, one Station House Officer (SHO) and a police head constable injured while three notorious dacoits were killed in an encounter took place between the dacoits and the police at the forest area of Golo Daro Taluka Garhi Yasin District Shikarpur in the jurisdiction of Dilawar Marfani police station on Saturday early in the morning.
The big police party led by SSP Sukkur Tanveer Ahmed Tunio after receiving the information raided on the hideouts of the dacoits at forest area of Golo Daro in Shikarpur during the exchange of fire two police constables namely Haji Mujeeb Chachar and Haji Ashme Chachar resident of District Ghotki were martyred while Station House Officer (SHO) namely Hidaytullah Abbassi and head constable Mewal Chachar were received bullet injured.
However three of the notorious dacoits identified as the largest high profile dacoit Nazro Narejo, Sarwar aka Saroo Narejo and Rabnawaz aka Raban Narejo were seriously injured and died during the encountering.
Addressing to the press conference held at Garhi Yasin police station DIG Sukkur Kamran Fazal and SSP Sukkur Tanveer said that the deceased dacoit Nazro Narejo was wanted in more than two hundred of criminal cases including road robberies, kidnapped for ransom, murders, extortion, police encountering and other heinous crimes registered against him in Shikarpur, Larkana, Naushero Feroze and Sukkur districts particularly he further said and added that another dacoits Sarwar aka Saroo Narejo and Rabnawaz aka Raban Narejo were wanted in dozens of criminal cases and they were companions and relatives of Nazro Narejo.
According to SSP Sukkur that the deceased notorious dacoit Nazro Narejo that the Sindh Government had announced rupees 2 crores as his head money and Sindh Government had also announced head money of his companion / brother in law Sarwar aka Saroo Narjo rupees 10 lacs as his head money.
They further said and added that the Home Minister of Sindh Sohail Anwar Siyal has taken briefing about an encounter.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) Sukkur Kamran Fazal has said that Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Hyder Jamali announced one crore rupees and government jobs for heirs of martyred police constables.
Police shifted the dead bodies of the martyred police constables for conducting post-mortem examination to District Headquarter (DHQ) Hospital Shikarpur after conducting post-mortem examination the dead bodies of the martyred police constables moved to Sukkur their native place for funeral prayers.
The injured SHO Hidaytullah Abbassi and head constables Mewal Chachar referred to Pano Akil Army Hospital for further medical treatment after providing them first aid at District Headquarter (DHQ) Hospital Shikarpur.
Police shifted the dead body of the dacoit Nazro Najrejo at Garhi Yasin police station for further legal formalities. Further police investigation is underway.
JOINT REVIEW OF LESSONS LEARNED & PROGRAM ADAPTATION WITH DISTRICT STAKEHOLDERS
SHIKARPUR: The one day Joint Review of Lessons Learned and Program Adaptation with District Stakeholders of District Shikarpur was organized by Save the Children in it’s Shikarpur Office on 09th
July 2015 followed by a Iftar Dinner.
Deputy Commissioner Shikarpur Hadi Bux Zaradri was the Chief Guest of the event.
Project Director Save the Children Upper Sindh Abdul Dayyan Yousafza welcomed the participants.
Shahid Ali the Food Security & Livelihoods FSL Coordinator shared the brief introduction regarding Save the Children and said that Women and Children / Infants Improved Nutrition in Sindh-WINS is a four-year program which was initiated in January 2013 and is well into progress till 2016 and is funded by the European Union.
The program is being implemented in three districts of Sindh including Shikarpur District through Save the Children in collaboration with the Department of Health DOH, Sindh Government, People’s Primary Health Initiative-PPHI and Social Protection Institutions.
The program aims to improve the nutrition status of children and Pregnant & Lactating Women-PLW through, 1.Treatment of Malnutrition, Improved nutrition practices, Food security and livelihoods,
Evidence based Advocacy, WINS Overall objective is to sustainably improve the nutrition status of Children and Pregnant & Lactating Women-PLWs with the specific objective to strengthened capacity to address the high rates of malnutrition in District Shikarpur aims at to reduce mortality and morbidity ratio amongst the children and PLWs.
Senior Coordinator Nutrition Asfandyar Khan shared the current situation in term of progress & achievements and Midterm Evaluation Report with the stakeholders and discussed the Handing over strategy of Health Facilities with Department of Health with confidence.
Abdul Dayyan Yousafzai, the Project Director of Save the Children at Shikarpur also expressed his deep concern over the alarming malnutrition situation in Sindh generally and in District Shikarpur particularly and said that the most important problem is faced by common people is malnutrition and He emphasized the stakeholders to play their for Future Course of Action as to overcome the growing malnutrition ratio where more than half of the children are malnourished and suffering from illness.
He further disclosed the Challenges in term of Coordination with Stakeholders and discussed the Program Adaptations strategy and said that Shikarpur District faces a Health and Nutritional emergency like situation where more than half of the children are malnourished and are suffering from illness, not to mention the poor practices on IYCF and lack of awareness regarding Health & Hygiene Practices that put many Children’s life at risk.
In the last after open discussion, Deputy Commissioner Shikarpur Hadi Bux Zardari in his closing remarks said that I really appreciate the services rendered by “Save the Children” in Shikarpur especially for improvement of health status/malnutrition and Wash Focused activities like as Community Physical Infrastructure Schemes-CPI etc.
All District Stakeholders including Social Welfare Department, Planning & Development Department, Benazir Income Support Program-BISP, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal-PBM, Agriculture Extension, Information Department, Department of Health, Local Government Department and others attended the Program.
A Day before this Event, Save the Children also organized a one day WINS Orientation Workshop for Social Protection Institutions-SPI Staff and discussed the status of Malnutrition in Sindh especially and in Shikarpur.
In open discussion the participants disclosed that how they can play their active role to reduce the mortality and morbidity ratio amongst the PLWs and Children through out their respective departments.
SHIKARPUR: Pakistan Peoples Party associate wings including Youth Wing, Cultural Wing, Sindh Peoples Students Federation (SPAF) taken out a protest rally from Bhayo House Shikarpur against arrest of Mir Aamir Khan Bhayo who was arrested by Rangers couple of days ago from his native place village Jagan Khan which was culminated at press club Shikarpur on Thursday.
Rally was led by Mir Asif Khan Bhayo, Raja Imam uddin, Barkat Lashari and others.
Addressing on the occasion leaders said that Mir Aamir Khan Bhayo is disabled person and we have been political victimized due to popularity of Bhayo family and we are condemned such practice.
Leaders further said and added that we are not opposite of peace and tranquility. While Rangers have setup check posts for searching at village Jagan Khan and surrounding areas.
It is mentioned that Mir Aamir Khan Bhayo is cousin of District President Pakistan People Party District Shikarpur Mir Babal Khan Bhayo and Advisor to Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah Mir Abid Khan Bhayo.
Meanwhile Advisor to Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah Mir Abid Khan Bhayo told to media persons that we have filed a petition at High Court to arrest Mir Aamir Khan Bhayo and also informed about arrest of Mir Aamir Khan Bhayo to Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah.
On the occasion activists of PPP demanded of the concerned authorities to take notice of the matter and ensure to release Mir Aamir Khan Bhayo otherwise they threatened to extend their protest movement.
DEATH SENTENCE AWARDED TWO ACCUSED
SHIKARPUR: Two accused named Mir Muhammad Shujrah and his brother Allah Wadhayo Shujrah were awarded the punishment of death sentence by the 4th Additional Sessions Judge Shikarpur Zahid Hussain Metlo on Monday here.
The accused had murdered one professor Ghulam Qadir Shujrah some three years before in Shikarpur on main road near Government High School No. 01.
On the complaint of Abdul Qadir Shujrah the father of deceased professor Ghulam Qadir Shujrah, the New Fujdari police had lodged the First Information Report (FIR) under crime No. 88/2013 under section 302 PPC and challaned the case in the learned court for trial.
The 4th Additional Sessions Judge Shikarpur Zahid Hussain Metlo after some hearings ordered to award death sentence to two accused named Mir Muhammad and Allah Wadhayo Shujrah in judgment on Monday.
The Mazhar Hussain Maghrio was the advocate from the side of the complaint while Naseer Ahmed Lodhi was advocating the side of accused party.
PAK ARMY SOLDIER DROWNED SINDH CANAL
SHIKARPUR: An Army soldier Aijaz Ahmed son of Badshah Khattak resident of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) serving as a soldier in 22-Signal Battalion was drowned to death into Sindh canal here on last late evening.
According to new Fojdari police sources the deceased Army man was along with his colleague Muhammad Ishfaque and other friends was taking a bath during the picnic when he drowned into the canal.
His body was taken out by the friends and sent to District Headquarter (DHQ) Hospital Shikarpur where the New Fujdari police reached at the Hospital and after completing legal formalities the dead body of the deceased Eijaz Ahmed Khattak was sent to Pano Akil cantonment under the care of his colleague Muhammad Ishfaque through Ambulance van. Sindh Govt provincial investigative agencies and Ombudsman fails to hold corruption in depts.
NAB TEAM RAIDED ON TOWN COMMITTEE GARHI YASIN
SHIKARPUR: The Six member National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Investigation team led by Deputy Director Samar Hussain Kadri and Additional Deputy Director (case) Shahazada Imtiaz Ahmed raided on Town Committee Office Garhi Yasin and took the record in its possession on Wednesday.
The team sealed the record which was available in the office of town committee.
According to head of NAB Sukkur committee Deputy Director Samar Hussain Kadri that action was taken on the public complains about the corruption of millions of rupees committed by town committee officials while managing the false record of development schemes from 2008 to 2015, payments of salaries of contract and regular employees and payments of three contractors including Tarique Pathan, Ghulam Mustafa Jakhro and Ghulam Ali Gopang and others.
The Town Committee Officer (TCO) Abdul Rasheed Malik, Finance Officer (FO) Fiaz Channa and Office Superintendent (OS) Asadullah Odhano were disappeared from the office when NAB Team entered the office to have action.
According to team leader, the complete record of the town committee regarding development schemes, payments of staff, recovery of taxes and the rent of property of town committee was not available in the office. While the incomplete record which was available there took in possession and sealed them for further investigation and checking.
The Deputy Director NAB Sukkur Samar Hussain Kadri said that the arresting of the officials will be arrested after checking the record and founding involved in corruption.
SHIKARPUR: A woman identified as 35-years old Jabbaran wife of Ghaffar Jatoi was killed in firing at village Napairabad in the jurisdiction of Faizo police station on Wednesday noon.
According to reports a clash erupted between two groups of Jatoi tribesmen on petty matter, in which one woman was killed.
Armed men escaped away from place of incident.
The area police rushed on the spot and body of the deceased woman shifted to Khanpur Taluka headquarter (THQ) Hospital for post-mortem after having conducted post-mortem examination the body of the deceased woman handed over to her relatives.
FIR was not registered till this story was filed.
