KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Food Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that Government is committed to provide relief to the people of Sindh. The Government is fully aware of its responsibility. This he said while presiding over the departmental meeting here in his office on Tuesday.
In the meeting the Provincial Minister for Food was informed that there was no dearth of wheat in Karachi and from 1stMay to 5th May, as many as 579 trucks entered into Karachi carrying 181886 wheat bags.
Provincial Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has expressed his satisfaction over the arrival of wheat into Karachi. In the meeting the Provincial Minister was also informed that 21 trucks carrying 6868 wheat bags were confiscated because they did not have proper documentation and these wheat bags were shifted to Government godowns.
Provincial Minister for Food Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar directed the officers to keep uninterrupted supply of wheat to Karachi but to keep a vigilant eye on illegal movement of wheat; it must be discouraged at all level.
The meeting overall performance of Food Department was reviewed and it was decided to speedup wheat procurement process and to achieve the target as soon as possible.
