15 Pakistani pilgrims martyred in Makkah incident: Arab TV

RIYADH: As the death toll from Friday’s tragic crane crash at the Grand Mosque in Makkah soared past 100, a Saudi-owned pan-Arab television channel reported on Saturday that 15 Pakistanis were among the dead.
Initial reports on casualties suggest those killed were 15 Pakistanis, 23 Egyptians, 10 Indians, 25 Iranian, six Malaysians, 25 Bangladeshis, one Algerian and one Afghan,” Al Arabiya news channel reported on its website.
Pakistani Ambassador Manzoorul Haq said 36 Pakistanis are under treatment in three hospitals in Makkah Mukarama. He said the families of the martyred are present in Makkah.
Earlier on Saturday, the Foreign Office said that as many as 26 Pakistani citizens who were injured on Friday in a crane accident in Holy Mosque of Makkah are being treated in different hospitals in Saudi Arabia.
