12,000 personnel deployed in Islamabad for Muharram security

ISLAMABAD: Around 12,000 personnel have been deployed in the federal capital for security during 9th and 10th Muharram.

Over 199 procession and Majalis will be held in Islamabad on Muharram 9 and 10.

According to police, 45 places including Imambargah 6/2, Abpara, Tarnol, Kahu and Shahzad town have been declared sensitive. Containers have been placed to close the routes leading to the ways of processions while four security jammer vehicles have been handed over to security teams.

Except for ‘Azaan’ use of loud speaker has been banned in mosques coming in the routes of Muharram processions. Ban has also been imposed on the speeches of 20 religious scholars of different school of thoughts while cases have been registered against 113 religious scholars for wrong use of the loud speakers.

Emergency has been declared in all the hospitals to meet any untoward situation.
