LARKANA: There is no proper accountability of several ghost ADP schemes, concerned officials minting mines by partnership contracts or heavy misappropriation of funds witnessed in irrigation told after survey conducted by a team among the media.
Authorities concerned turned deaf ears over the substandard and improper development, majority of officials in the drainage division irrigation have been observed to obey the political orders and the schemes in the areas were awarded such contracts to inexperienced favorite on a huge bribe or as partnership contracts.
They had inflicted loss of billions of rupees to national exchequer, whey advance payments made to the dearest and nearest contractors they had no previous experience of such schemes also.
The civil society representatives have expressed their concern over the prevailing substandard ongoing work in the irrigation drainage schemes under ADP 2014-15 in Larkana, Kamber-Shahdadkot, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Thatta, Mirpurkhas and others in deplorable situation.
National Accountability Bureau and Anti-Corruption department Sindh are silent over mismanagement and yet no investigations have been carried out since long serving various officials are minting mines in the department.
A heavy misuse of funds in the province out of total Rs.8353.505 new schemes have also been launched, among 2013 Rs. 69.119 million funds utilized only for survey and investigation.
The department funds utilization in new Tube well and drainage reclamation was about Rs. 378 million, while for open canals pitching and excavation funds utilized over Rs. 7885.887 sources disclosed.
When this correspondent contacted the concerned officials of the department about irregularities since, they warned and threaten of dire consequences if they will touch it.
It is also pertinent to be mentioned here that there are numerous reports of heavy corruption in these sectors are continued but NAB, Anti-corruption and other agencies have not taken any action against the corruption mafia sourced told.

LARKANA: Commissioner Larkana Ghulam Akbar Leghari on the directives of MNA Faryal Talpur paid visit of Chandka Medical College Larkna took notice of dilapidated conditions Noori girls hostel and directed the CMC administration to ensure the repairing and maintenance of Noori Hostel and required facilities be provided to students, added that he will write a letter to concerned department for reconstruction of Noori hostel.
Commissioner also visited the Women Jail Larkana and Central Jail Larkana and reviewed the facilities being providedaccording to jail manual sought detailed briefing from Jail Superintendents of both jail separately and personally inquired the problems of women prisoners and Juvenal.
Commissioner was briefed by Jail Superintendent and informed that load shedding is big problem of prisoners and generator is long standing demand of jail administration to
facilitate the prisoners, sources privy to jail told that several women are suffering from the Hepatitis B and C, but jail administration is reluctant to provide the quality health services for them.
Commissioner Larkana visited the different barracks of jail and met with women prisoners as well as Juvenal prisoners and inquired their problems and said that problems of women jail will be resolved and prisoners should be facilitated according to jail manual.
Commissioner Larkana Ghulam Akbar Leghari emphasized on jail administration to ensure the hearings of women prisoners in courts, on the occasion he reviewed ongoing development schemes in Jail and directed the concerned engineers to complete work on stipulated time and ensure the quality work.

SHIKARPUR: A villager killed and the other received bullet injuries in an armed clash took place between Syeds and the Sadhaya tribesmen on the simple matter of entrance of the cattle in the field at Hamayoon Sharif in the limits of Hamayoon Police Station on Monday after noon.
Muhammad Ali Sadhayo and Syed Noor Shah were seriously injured in exchange of their fires who were brought to District Headquarter (DHQ) Hospital Shikarpur where injured Muhammad Ali Sadhayo was succumbed to his injuries.
While the other injured Syed Noor Shah was admitted in District Headquarter (DHQ) Hospital for medical treatment whose condition is reported out of danger. No FIR was registered till this news was flashed.
ACTION AGAINST 45 DOCTORS BEING TAKEN – JAM MEHTAB HUSSAIN DAHAR

KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Health Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has ordered to initiate departmental action against 45 doctors who have been absconders or found guilty in their performance. Having completed departmental proceedings these doctors have been called for personal hearing on 2 June. In case of failing further action may be taken against them that may be culminated termination from their service as well. Provincial Minister for Health Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar, while taking serious notice of disconnection of electricity of various government hospitals, has directed Secretary Health Sindh to look into the matter and ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity to government hospitals in order to provide relief to the patients and their attendants as well.
