Syria conflict: US suspends talks with Russia

WASHINGTON: The United States has suspended talks with Russia on the issue of ending violence in Syria.
US State Department Spokesperson John Kirby, in a statement, said the United States is suspending its participation in bilateral channels with Russia that were established to sustain the cessation of hostilities.
The announcement came hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree to suspend an agreement with the United States on disposing of weapons-grade plutonium.
