Pakistani Taliban’s Jundullah group claims responsibility for Karachi Blast

PESHAWAR: Pakistani Taliban’s Jundullah group has claimed responsibility for Karachi Blast that hurt SSP Farooq while killing at least two police personal here on Thursday night.
The squad of SSP Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Farooq Awan was hit here in Defence area of Karachi, police said.
According SHO Sarwar Commando SSP Farooq Awan has also been injured in the attack. The injured have been rushed to hospital, he said.
Earlier, a huge blast was heard and cloud of dust seen here in Gizri area of the affluent Defence Housing Authority area of Karachi on Thursday night.
Reports said people of different areas have heard the sounds of blast. Police is trying to locate the spot of blast.
According to report issued by secret agencies, there were threats to the life of Farooq Awan who was heading the police unit interrogating target killings, political gangsters and members of proscribed organizations.
Eyewitnesses say a bike has hit the vehicle. DIG South Abdul Khaliq Shaikh told media the attack apparently seem to be a suicide one.
The vehicle of Farooq Awan was armored.
Seemi Jamali, head of the emergency services in Jinnah Hospital said one dead body and seven injured police personnel have brought into the hospital. Rescue sources said three people have died in the terrorist attack.
