More than 10,000 teachers will recruit in Sindh: Qaim Ali Shah

KARACHI: The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that PPP Govt has inducted 25,000 teachers since last 6 years and will recruit more 10,000 teachers purely on merit and under third party validation to ensure qualitative education in province. The Chief Minister Sindh said that merit was the only instrument to raise the standard of education.
He said that we have accepted the education standard of World Bank and achieved lot of improvement in the standard of education. This he said while addressing Honouring Merit Cash Reward Ceremony by Intermediate Boards of Sindh held at CM House Karachi today. In this ceremony all the position holders of All the Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) were presented cash award of Rs One Lac and Ipad on account of their best performance.
Addressing the ceremony the CM Sindh said that before the PPP Govt the standard of education was very much poor, schools in thousands were closed and the Sindh was legging behind so far the education was concerned. He said that even the World Bank intended to help for raising standard of education but then Govt refused conditions of World Bank.
He said that when PPP Govt came into powers, we gave priority to qualitative education and followed the guidelines of World Bank only for sake of standard education and inducted 25,000 teachers purely on merit and also going to induct more 10,000 teachers on merit to ensure qualitative education to the poor people at their door steps besides we have opened more than 5000 closed schools.
The Chief Minister Sindh said that we have to work hard we have not only to raise the standard of education but also the raise the literacy ratio as still millions of children are out of schools who were suppose to be in the schools. He said that despite of 45,000 schools in the province we are going to increase the number of schools and offering incentive to the school going children.
Falicitating to the position holder students, for their outstanding performance the Chief Minister Sindh asked them to keep their hard work continue, come up to the expectation of their parents and people of this country as this country needs young talented youths to keep it on the track of prosperity.
He said to provide cash stipend to Girls students and text books free of cost to all students upto secondary level were the steps of incentives to the students to raise the literacy ratio. He said that the PPP Govt was not only concentrating on the merit and standard of education but it also maintaining merit in recruitment in all Govt departments as well.
He said that Sindh Public Service Commission has been made free to select the candidates for any post of BPS 17 and above purely on merit. Later on talking to the media men the Chief Minister Sindh said that talks with MQM were in progress to make them part of the Govt.
Responding to a question, the Chief Minister Sindh said that the matter about the transfer posting of Chief Secretary Sindh has been put in to the knowledge of Prime Minister. To a question he said that Sindh Govt has 45,000 schools and it was also opening new schools as well however he maintained that if any philanthropists or well reputed academic organization is willing to adopt and run any school, the Sindh Govt will welcome it on academic point of view but not provide it the ownership of that school.
The Secretary to Universities and Boards Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah also spoke on this occasion. Earlier the Chief Minister sindh presented cash award on outstanding performance to Thirteen (13) students of Karachi Board, Nine (9) students of Hyderabad Board, Seven (7) student of Sukkur Board, Six (6) students of Larkana Board and Nine (9) students of Mirpurkhas Board. The large number of academician and Govt officers attended the ceremony.
