Illegal passports of 2000 VIPs have been canceled: Chaudhry Nisar

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has on Friday said that illegal passports of 2000 VIPs have been canceled. He added that over 80 million National Identity Cards (NICs) have so far been verified while everyone thought that it was an impossible task.
Briefing the media in Islamabad, Chaudhry Nisar said that not a single passport was cancelled during Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) era. He said that the previous governments did not even try to detect and cancel the illegal passports and NICs.
Nisar said that corruption in passports and NICs will be curbed at any cost. He added that e-passport was going to be issued in order to curb forgery in these departments. He also said that those involved in issuing these fake ID cards will be arrested as they had committed treason.
