KARACHI: Francois DALL’ORSO, Consul General France in Karachi called on Chairman Sindh Board of Investment Dr. Asif A. Brohi at his office here on Tuesday.
Mr. Francois DALL’ORSO extends his full support in the area where need is identify. He said, French entrepreneur will provide technical expertise to local entrepreneur to equip dairy installations. Mr. Francois apprised that in France lot of exhibitions are organized on different specialized sector.
The Consul General of France said France Government is looking forward to be a part of Projects in Sindh and there is a huge investment potential. The positive initiatives in terms of business and trade by the Sindh Government are ever welcoming to French Consulate. He also offered their support in upgrading different sector in Pakistan.
Chairman Sindh Board of Investment Dr. Asif A. Brohi said Sindh Government is looking forward for mutual cooperation with French counterparts in different socio-economic uplifting projects specially agriculture, dairy, livestock, fisheries, education, agribusiness value addition, aquaculture farming and so forth. The aim of this meeting is to highlight the existing potential of the province and to attract foreign direct Investment, we are expected to meet the identical sector specialist in France to discuss and promote quantum of trade between the two.
Dr. Asif Brohi assured the H.E. Mr. Framcois DALL’ORSO regarding continuous and serious interventions by the Sindh Board of Investment to promote investments in diversified sectors of alternate energy especially Thar Coal, Wind and Solar.
Chairman SBI said that serious efforts were also being made for containment of energy crisis in Pakistan through multiple measures. Other than promoting investments in Thar coal, the SBI is working closely with private sector to examine interventions under solar energy.
Chairman also invited French Government to hold share in Karachi Education City, one of the mega projects of Sindh Government. He said that we are also looking for collaboration between French institutes and Agriculture University, Tando Jam in order to reach point of mutual understanding for better research and educational activities.
Ms. Naheed Memon, Member Board of Director, SBI elaborated that Sindh Province is looking forward for mutual cooperation with French counterparts in different sectors. She said we are trying to highlight the existing potential of the province and to attract foreign direct Investment. She expressed her interest that Sindh Board of Investment should be the member of France Pakistan Business Alliance (FPBA) for strengthening better bilateral relationship among B2B, B2G and G2G of both countries.
Director General, SBI Muhammad Riazuddin apprised on current projects of SBI, and proposed that French investors can invest in a versatile sector of fishery and participate in development of Korangi Fish Harbor, which has great profitable business.
HOME DEPARTMENT ESTABLISHES PROVINCIAL ACTION PLAN CELL

KARACHI: The Government of Sindh, Home Department has been established Provincial Action Plan Cell (PAPC) with the following composition and terms of Reference (TORs) with immediate effect.
Additional Secretary (Law Enforcement) – 0336-2003576, Deputy Secretary (Law Enforcement) – 0300-2719925, Section Officer (LE-1) – 0333-2697485 and Additional Registrar (ATCs) – 0302-3476623.
The terms of references are; communication and supporting hub for Apex Committee, Sub-Committees and all the stake holders involved in the implementation of the Provincial Action Plan; to monitor the implementation of the Apex Committee decisions; and to prepare report/working paper for submission to the Government of Sindh and Apex Committee.
CRIME INVESTIGATION DEPARTMENT NOMENCLATURE MODIFIED TO COUNTER TERRORISM DEPARTMENT

KARACHI: The Government of Sindh, Home Department has modified the nomenclature of Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Sindh Police to “Counter Terrorism Department” (CID), with immediate effect.

KARACHI: Former President and Co-Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Asif Ali Zardari has strongly condemned the bomb blast near Police Lines in Lahore and expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of scores of precious and innocent human lives.
“The monster of terrorism continues to strike as entire nation has united to give it a final blow through unanimous and coordinated efforts of the country,” he added.
Asif Ali Zardari said there is no option except complete defeat to the menace of terrorism, which has already given so much pain to the people of Pakistan.
He stressed that best medical facilities should be provided to the injured.

KARACHI: Sherry Rehman, Vice President of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian has condemned bomb blast in Lahore in which more than eight innocent persons were martyred today.
In a press statement, Sherry Rehman said such coward terror attack cannot break the will of the people of Pakistan as they are united against all forms of terrorism and stand behind the steps and efforts mounted for elimination of the scourge.
She sympathized with the victims’ families and expressed sorrow over the great loss.
