Another JI, Bangladesh leader gets death over war crimes

DHAKA: A Bangladesh court awarded death sentence to another leader of Jamaat-e-Islami, Bangladesh, Abdul Subhan over charges of war crime.

A three-judge panel of the court handed down the punishment to Subhan for his involvement in ‘genocide, kidnapping, torture and human rights violations’ during the 1971 war.

According to the prosecutor, six out of nine charges of war crime have been proved against the vice president of JI, Bangladesh.

Abdul Subhan was present in the court when the judges pronounced the capital punishment to him.

He is the 9th leader of JI, Bangladesh to have been awarded the death sentence over war crime charges.
