KARACHI: Sindh’s Information Minister Sharjeel Memon announced that the cleaning campaign in the province would last for one year.
The provincial minister made the statement after he swept the road outside the Custom House as part of the campaign.
According to Memon, there were thousands of ghost employees of the Sindh government and measures were being taken to deal with them.
“After 31 March employees of the provincial government will be paid through Silk Bank. There will be officials from NADRA and biometrics done. This process will determine how many real and ghost employees there are.”
The minister further said ghost employees were being paid by the taxpayers’ money and this will stop after April 1.
