LAHORE, Apr 22 (INP): It has been established beyond any doubt that PPP provides jobs to the poor people and the PML (N) government deprives them from their livelihood, said Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo, President PPP Central Punjab, here Wednesday.
He said this in a statement issued from here today castigating the government for its reported contemplation of sacking of hundreds of lower grade employees of Evacuee Property Trust Board who were provided jobs by the PPP previous government. Federal government and Chairman Evacuee Trust Property Board, Siddique-ul-Farooq, should desist from pursuing the policies of economic murder of the poor people based on trivial considerations of political victimization, he added.
He recalled that the PPP government under the premiership of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto recruited thousands of unemployed poor people in various government departments strictly according to rules regardless of the political affiliations.
He expressed his strong disapproval of the second PML (N) government that sacked all the employees so recruited adding it was a sheer political victimization of the Sharifs against the poor employees who had no other source of livelihood.
He pointed out that the previous PPP government formed a high level committee under the chairmanship of Syed Khurshid Shah to review the cases. The Committee reinstated and regularized the thousands employees sacked by the PML (N) government who are now contributing meaningfully in their respective departments.
Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo expressed his resolve that the PPP would not allow the government to sack the employees adding that its leadership would agitate the policy of victimization of the government at all forums including in the Parliament.
He referred to the stated policy of the PPP on the privatization of the State Enterprises adding that it would not be implemented at the cost of the jobs of the labor working there. The PPP would ensure their job security on better terms, he asserted.
He said that the PPP would not let the poor people of the country be subject to injustice or exploitation at the hands of this government.
