VILLAGERS DECRY ALLOTMENT OF 28000 ACRES LAND TO MALIK RIAZ

ABBAS KASSAR
HYDERABAD:
Villagers of various villages of Taluka Latifabad have decried the allotment of 28000 acres land of their villages to a Lahore builder Malik Riaz who is supposed to be gang leader of builder mafia. The villagers visited the national house in Qasimabad and told leader of Sindh National Party that they were demanding allotment of land around their villages to them for cultivation since long but Sindh government allotted such quantity of land which not even a big landlord owns in Sindh.
SNP leader Ashraf Noonari observed that this was too much cruelty of PPP government with it own people who wanted to till the land and had applied for allotment. They were ready to pay Rs.10 lacs price per acre but Sindh government ignored Sindhi villagers and allotted same land to Riaz at rate of only Rs.35000 per acre for the reason that he was friend of PPP chief and former president Asif Ali Zardari. He said allotment of land was right of local villagers who were living on these lands since centuries. He said Malik Riaz had silenced MQM by ensuring plots for its martyred workers and building university in name of Altaf Hussain. He alleged that Zardari and MQM were involved in this illegal allotment. He made appeal to Supreme Court and Sindh High Court to take notice of this land scandal. He also asked Sindh government to allot land to villagers canceling allotment of Malik Riaz otherwise his party would launch movement across Sindh against such sale of precious land of Sindh to a Lahore builder. Those who met Noonari included Ramzan Brohi, Ramzan Rajpur, Shabbir Inqilabi, Aman Ali Pahanwar, Juma Khan Brohi, Sattar Brohi and Imam Bux Khosa.
