Two terrorists of banned outfit killed in alleged police encounters and arrest Uzbeks, Tajiks in dozens

KARACHI: Two terrorists were killed in an alleged police encounter in Sohrab Goth on late Saturday night.

Police said the terrorists, affiliated with banned outfit, had planned to attack polio workers. Police also recovered 10kg explosives from their possession.

While, Police and sensitive organisations launched an operation in different parts of the city and arrested over two dozen foreigners of Uzbek and Tajik descent Sunday morning.

Sources said that following the attack on the Karachi airport, police and sensitive organisations went on a crackdown in different parts of the city and hauled up over two dozen foreigners who had no valid documents for their stay in the country.

All the arrested foreigners have been shifted to an unknown location for further investigation.
