Trump, Putin discuss normalise US-Russia ties

MOSCOW: US President-elect Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin have agreed to normalise ties between Washington and Moscow.
The agreement came during telephonic talks between the two leaders. The Kremlin said both leaders noted “the extremely unsatisfactory state of US-Russia relations ” and “declared the need for active joint work to normalise them.”
The presidential transition team in Washington said in a statement that it was Putin who called Trump to “offer his congratulations on winning a historic election.”
