LARKANA: Shaheed Zulifqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) Larkana campus marked the spring festival of Holi, students throw colored powder at each other here on Thursday.
A large number of students and faculty members participated in event and celebrated the “Holi” and welcomed to spring season by throwing colors at each other and featured music and dancing.
An organizer of event and Head of Campus MB Soomro told journalists that objective of arranging such events to promote interfaith harmony and extending social ties, added that Holi festival was aimed to embrace and promote multiculturalism within the College.
He said that festival bids farewell to winter and marks the emergence of spring and is one of the most widely celebrated festivals worldwide, Stemming from Hindu folklore, the festival celebrates the triumph of good over evil and bridges the gap between social classes, he asserted.
SZABIST students also celebrated Basant mela to welcome the spring season on Wednesday in front of premises of campus.
The colorful festival was marked by music, endless kite flying and various food stalls. The evening gained momentum when the musically inclined, started strutting their stuff on the stage, a band of musicians from ZABIST and rocked off event.
Miss Sorath, Niha, Barkha, Vishal, Gotam, Teacher Naveed Ali, Zahida Abro, head of campus MB Soomro, student Maqboo Junejo and others set Pigeons free by flying in sky and sending with message of peace and harmony in country.

DADU: Dadu police conducted raids at various prostitution places, held 11 people including six women on charges of prostitution in town on late Wednesday night; While Dadu police filed a case and sent arrested women to Hyderabad Jail and men to Dadu Jail on Thursday.
Dadu police led by SHO A-Section, Suleman Bhutto raided at brothel near Sonara Mohalla and arrested 11 people including brothel owner, runner and sex workers on the charges of prostitution.
Names of the arrested brothel owner, runner and sex workers are, Hakimzadi, Sonia, Guddi, Noorjehan, Gul Hassan, Ali Gul, Raja, Mukhtiar and others.
Talking to this reporter, SHO A-Section, Suleman Bhutto told that Dadu police has filed a case and sent arrested women to Hyderabad Jail and men to Dadu Jail. He said that crackdown was started against brothel owners, gambling den runners and criminals.
PROTEST DEMONSTRATION AGAINST NON PROVISION OF SALARIES

SHIKARPUR: Lower staff of education department Shikarpur staged a protest demonstration against non provision of their eight months salaries out side of local press club here on Thursday.
According to reports, All Sindh Education Lower Staff district Shikarpur held a protest demonstration rally; rally was led by district president (ASELS) Gul Muhammad Sanjrani which was marched various roads of Shikarpur and reached at local press club.
On the occasion All Sindh Education Lower Staff district Shikarpur leaders including Mujahid Khaskhile, Ghulam Hussain Khoso, Shabir Sheikh and Akhtiar Bhayo has said that despite orders of Sindh High Court (SHC) Education Department Sindh is not releasing salaries of 253 lower staff employees of Education Department therefore we are facing financial hardships he said and added that we have written a letter about non provision of their eight months salaries to Secretary Education Sindh and Director Education Larkana but we are not received any answer.
On the occasion leaders demanded to Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Senior Minister of Education Nisar Khuhro, Secretary Education Sindh and higher authorities to take immediate notice of the matter otherwise he threatened to accelerate protest circle.

SHIKARPUR: Activists of Sindh Peoples Student Federation District Shikarpur staged a protest against district president of SPSF Shikarpur out side of local press club here on Thursday.
According to reports activists of Sindh Peoples Student Federation District Shikarpur Syed Sajjad Hussain Shah, Ayaz Memon, Qamar Shah and others has said that so-called government employee of Taluka Municipal Administration (TMA) Shikarpur Papo Bhayo be considered the President of SPSF Shikarpur.
He further said that Papo Bhayo is working is a Malhi in TMA Shikarpur and as a decision of MNA Faryal Talpur no any government employee could not be president or representative of political party.
On the occasion he demanded to MNA Faryal Talpur, Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durani, SPSF Sindh President Meer Suhrab Khan Marri, General Secretary SPSF Sindh Fakir Zakir Hussain Hisbani and other authorities to take immediate notice of the matter otherwise he threatened to accelerate protest circle.
