Syed Ibne Abbas likely Pakistani High Commissioner to UK

ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office announced its decision to appoint Syed Ibne Abbas as Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, on Monday.
According to sources, the British Government has been presented with Ibne Abbas’ documents and following the approval of the British Government Syed Ibne Abbas’ appointment will be formally announced. Ibn Abbas earlier served as Pakistan’s High Commissioner in India.
The Vacant Office
The office of Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom fell vacant after Wajid Shamsul Hassan stepped down having serving for a record six years. Hassan had resigned following the general elections in Pakistan but continued as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif refused to accept his resignation. Hassan finally stepped down three months ago, handing over authority to the deputy high commissioner.
