SRB achieves another highest ever collection of Rs. 4.463 billion

KARACHI: The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) once again achieved another highest ever collection of Rs. 4.463 billion by exceeding the monthly based target of 4.083 billion during the month of February, 2015. This represents an increase of Rs.0.744 billion or 20% as compared to same period in last year. Besides, the collection of Rs. 29.9 billion for the first eight months for the period of July 2014 to February 2015 also represents an increase of over 5.273 billion or 21.42% against the collection of Rs. 24.6 billion for the same period in last year. The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has lauded the efficient efforts of the SRB management and assured for providing all possible support for its further capacity building.
It is important to mention here that Sindh Revenue Board has achieved this milestone despite reduction of 1% sales tax on services rate from 16% to 15%, allowing an input adjustment of 17% federal sales tax on goods, higher/increased rate of tax against input of petroleum products and just utilizing one-third of its expenditure budget. Sindh Revenue Board is gradually increasing revenue targets since its inception and has emerged as the largest tax collection authority of the province. It has a target of enhancing its tax receipts amounting Rs. 100 billion by the end of financial year 2017. During the financial year 2010-11, 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14; SRB collected Rs. 18.28 billion, Rs. 25.01 billion, Rs. 33.65 billion and Rs. 42.48 billion respectively. SRB would continue with this endeavor to increase tax collection every year and would leave no stone unturned to provide best of the services and facilities to taxpayers.
The Chairman SRB remarked that this remarkable achievement would not have been possible without the trust and confidence of taxpayers and support received from the Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and all other key stakeholders including trade bodies and international agencies. He further said that credit also goes to the relentless efforts, effective monitoring and extra ordinary devotion and dedication of SRB staff.

SHIKARPUR: The people of Sindh have never allowed any anti Sindh forces to destroy the peace therefore the peoples of Sindh should be united towards the fighting against the terrorism in the province.
This was stated by Muhattarima Ganiwa Bhutto the Chairperson of Pakistan Peoples Party Shaheed Bhutto (PPP-SB) while talking to media men at central Imambargah Masjid on Saturday after noon. On the occasion of condolence meeting with the victim family members of the innocent citizens who were martyred in the last suicide bomb attack occurred on 30th January 2015.
The PPP-SB Chairperson expressed her deep concern over the step-motherly attitude to the people of Sindh when the Prime Minister of Pakistan Miyan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and his federal government partners have ignored to the sindhi people on the occasion of Shikarpur diasaster to express their sympathies with the victims which caused to create hatred by the federal rulers towards the aggrieved people of not only for Shikarpur people but for the all dwellers of Sindh.
She urged that the people of Sindh should express their solidarity with the victims of the Shikarpur tragedy as shown with Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto during his martyrdom and should endeavor to fight unitedly against the terrorists to discourage their anti human activities of creating sectarian violence and religious differences.
Besides the PPP-SB central leader Javeed Hajano appreciated the efforts made by Shikarpur police and other law enforcing agencies for arresting some of the terrorists involved in Shikarpur disaster has emphasized the need of taking more efforts for arresting the main group leaders, facilitators and harbourers as well as to intensity the serious joint operations by Police and Ranger to destroy the hide outs of the terrorists and discourage their ongoing network in Shikarpur and other districts of Sindh.
Meanwhile addressing the press conference on Saturday evening at central Imambargah Masjid here Allama Maqsood Ali Domki the Chairman Shikarpur Shuhada Committee has informed the media men that the Shuhada committee has propose to call all parties peace conference on 14 March of 2015 at Sindh level to make sold policy and programme to launch the protest movement jointly against the terrorist activities in order to restore the peace and tranquility in the province so that the people of Sindh particularly should avail the legal, constitutional, democratic and moral rights to live their lives in peaceful manner without any thread of life by the terrorists.
However Allama Domki has threatened to make programme for launching serious protest campaign from 26th March of 2015 if the implementation over the demands of Shuhada committee accepted by Sindh Chief Minister was not made within two weeks.

PETITION FILED AGAINST HEALTH DEPARTMENT

SHIKARPUR: Social worker Shahab Oasto has filed petition in Sindh High Court (SHC) against Sindh Government, Secretary Health and Medical Superintendent Civil Hospital Shikarpur for non provision of Medicines and Ambulances of bomb blast injured which was occurred on 30th January 2015 in Central Imambargah Masjid Shikarpur.
In this regard talking to media men renowned social worker of Shikarpur Muhammad Parial Marri has said that Shikarpur incident is a big tragedy of Pakistan particularly Sindh which was claimed 66 persons killed and more than 73 injured and which incident was shown poor condition of health department particularly Civil Hospital Shikarpur here on Saturday.
He further said that I am supporting efforts of Mr Oasto and masses of Shikarpur want transparent probe against non provision of medicine and Ambulance which was death toll rises.
On the occasion Mr Marri demanded to higher authorities to take notice of non provision medicines and Ambulance in Civil Hospital Shikarpur which cause death toll rises.

SHIKARPUR TRAGEDY INJURED EXPIRED

SHIKARPUR: The injured of Shikarpur blast Liaquat Ali Sanjrani was expired in private hospital Karachi on Friday. Thus the death toll of the martyrs of Shikarpur disaster was raised to 66.
His Nimaz-e-Janaza held at Lakhi Gate Clock Tower chowk here on Saturday morning.Liaquat Ali Sanjrani was the brother of Ayaz Ahmed Sanjrani former president of Press Club Shikarpur. Rahim Bux Jamali President Press Club Shikarpur, Rahmatullah Soomro General Secretary, Sodho Jemas and Waheed Phulpoto condoled with Ayaz Sanjrani and offered Fateha Khawani and deep sorrow.

SHIKARPUR: Senior journalist of Hyderabad Abbas Kessar’s grandson Ashfaq Ali of, 15 has passed away in this regard journalists of Shikarpur held a condolence meeting here on Saturday.
Waheed Phulpoto presided the condolence meeting and other journalists of Shikarpur including Muhammad Ibrahim Brohi, Sikandar Siddiqui offered Fateha Khawani of senior journalist of Hyderabad Abbass Kessar’s grandson Ashfaq Ali of, 15.On the occasion senior journalist Waheed Phulpoto expressed deep sorrow and also prayed to Allah Almighty to grant patience to affected house members.

LARKANA: Senior Minister for education Nisar Ahmed Khuhro on Saturday said that and standard of public sector educational institutions in Sindh will be enhanced in this regard philanthropists should help the education department train 40,000 teachers of schools in Sindh in order to raise the quality of education in the province, he was speaking at an award and prize distribution ceremony for talented students of 2014-15 here at Government Pilot High Secondary School Larkana on Saturday.
Provincial Minister further said that the government is committed to achieving its millennium development goals and improve existing education system of Sindh, training of teachers is a very important part of education field, added that attitude and behavior of the teacher is very vital impart the education to students and transferring of qualities, he said.
Mr Khuhro said that Sindh government is utilizing its resources to improve the literacy rate and encouraging the female education, every individual will have to play his part to ensure education of their children and increase the registration of children in schools and help decrease dropouts.
Later Education Minister distributed the prizes and awards among talented students of schools and also distributed 204 fans to 102 government schools of Larkana district.
On the occasion concerned officers of education department and PPP local leaders were present.

LARKANA: Pirbhat Women Development Society in collaboration with OXFAM, Novib and Aahung organized a one day sensitization session with lawyers at local hotel Larkana, in connection with creating awareness about controlling early child marriages and Sindh child marriage restraint bill 2013.
Speaking on the occasion Rubina Chandio representative of Pirbhat Women Development Organization said said that new bill Sindh child marriage restraint bill 2013 has been passed by Sindh Assembly for controlling the early child marriages, but government has failed to get bill implemented in provinces, still premature marriages before age of 18th are in full swing, Police and district administrations are unaware, they said.
She stated that it is necessary to implement on new ordinance regarding the new law, contract child marriage is punishable for 3 years, Molvi, and parents groom will be held and punished according to law, added Police should change its behavior and serve the masses like public servants.
Rubina Chandio astonished that Police are still unaware about new legislations regarding the early marriages before 18 years, it is very compulsory to enforce the law and implement on it in letter and spirit to avoid the unwanted incidents, several government departments have no knowledge about the charter of human rights, every individual will have to raise voice against the violation of human rights.
The representative of Aahung Shehnila Gul, Murad Pandrani,Shanul Khoso and others also spoke on the occasion, They told that Judges, lawyers, Police, Ulemas who offering Nikah are being provided training in this regard.
The new law has enhanced age limit of girls to 18 years, underage marriages will be dealt with stern action among groom, parents, bride and Mulana to be sentenced three years in prison and fine 45000, added that around 40 percent Pakistani Women are reportedly getting married under age 18.
On the occasion Advocate Abdul Rehman Bhutto, Advocate Alia Rizvi, Javed Gopang and others also participated in program.
