KARACHI, Apr 25 (INP) : The federal government has issued a threat alert to the provincial government of Sindh with directives to immediately improve security arrangements at sensitive places.
According to reports, the letter issued from the federal interior ministry voiced grave security apprehensions, noting that terrorist organizations may launch attacks on sensitive places and installations in the province.
The letter by the National Crisis Management Cell indicated among the potential targets Jinnah Airport, Hamdard University, Pakistan Air Force headquarters, Korangi Creek University, Malir Cantonment, Pakistan Steel Mills, Rangers headquarters and United States Consulate.
In the letter, provincial government has been advised to make fool-proof arrangements at all these places in order to frustrate the terrorists in all their sabotage plans.
It is worth mentioning that the Interior Minister Ch Nisar said in Peshawar Friday that terrorists were planning to attack soft targets.
