Sindh Minister for Information & Local Government Sharjeel Innam Memon has said that recruitment process is being carried out in all provincial departments, including police purely on merit.

Sharjeel Memon said that MQM leader Waseem Akhtar leveled baseless allegations. Just he wanted political point scoring which has backfired.

He further said that merit has not been violated during PPP tenure but it was the tenure of General Musharrraf when merit trampled not only in recruitment but promotions were also made on nepotism basis.”

Mr Sharjeel Innam Memon said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has given police free hand in recruitment, transfer/postings and full powers to maintain law and order in the province.

He advised MQM friends to be realistic and appreciate the efforts of the government.
