Sindh Govt heavy funds misuse despite of proper installation of surveillances at Dargahs

— Death toll reaches 90 in Sehwan suicide blast and 350 injured

SEHWAN/KARACHI: The allocated funds for surveillance on various Shrines in Sindh could not be utilized properly, but heavy corruption on all major schemes during 8 years of PPP led government. 38 out of 60 CCTVs, Scanners could not be installed in Sehwan Dargah.

According to yearly budget during 2014-16 Rs 1447.216 million for Scanners, CCTV surveillance on various Dargah in province, the funds allocated but these could not be utilized properly at all. There is number of schemes of repair and renovation including surveillance of Dargah Qalander Lal Shahbaz Sehwan scheme worth Rs. 460.797 million could not be utilized during 2013-14 that was made partially or incomplete scheme still in doldrums sources confirmed.

During the Security of Qalander Lal Shahbaz at Sehwan, there are 86 policemen, but only 20 or 30 deployed in rotation on their duties, while only single walkthrough gates was installed since out of order among CCTVs sources in Auqaf department told.

It is pertinent to be mentioned that apathy of Provincial Department Auqaf and Religious Affairs that could not utilized funds properly it was also disclosed in quarterly report by the finance department to Sindh Assembly during 2015-16 budget preparations.

The Auqaf Sindh allocated funds of Rs. 20 million for security and surveillance installation of CCTV cameras, walk through gates, scanners task could not be implemented at various Dargahs of Sindh including Larkana, Jamshoro-Sehwan, Hyderabad, Mattiari, T.M Khan, Dadu, Badin and others.
