ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday presided over a meeting to review overall energy crisis especially with reference to nationwide power breakdown over the weekend.
The meeting was attended by senior officials including Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif. PM Sharif directed that measures should be taken to reduce power loadshedding throughout the country.
He said that the government has launched several new power projects that would help overcome energy crisis in the country.
The meeting reviewed that stocks position and availability of furnace oil to power generation companies.
The meeting also discussed power situation following massive nationwide breakdown. The federal minister for water and power gave a detailed briefing on causes of the breakdown and restoration of power supply.
The meeting also discussed availability of petrol throughout the country especially in Punjab.
