VEHARI: A murder convict was hanged to death in district jail Vehari on Saturday morning.
Jail sources said condemned prisoner Manzoor had killed a police constable, Fida Hussain over resistance during a robbery bid in 2001 and the anti terrorism court had ordered to hang him to death twice.
Lahore High Court’s Multan bench dismissed the convict’s appeal against the ruling in 2008.
Death warrant for his execution was issued on April 13.
Prisoner Manzoor was sent to gallows after President Mamnoon Hussain rejected his mercy plea.
