KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon on Monday said he did not know of any decision under which the Provincial Apex Committee (PAC) had been authorized to make transfers and postings in Sindh police.
Speaking in Geo News program ‘Aaj Shahzaib Khanzada Kay Saath’, the provincial Information Minister clarified that he was present at today’s PAC meeting and that he was not aware of any such decision whereby the Committee had been given powers to undertake transfers and postings in Sindh police.
He said the meeting did focus on the mechanism for recruitments in the Sindh police.
Sharjeel Memon said during the meeting the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari only proposed to have a representative of army or Rangers in the police selection board.
However, he adds, it was agreed that lines of communication between civil and military leadership will remain open.
