NASA launch of SMAP atop ULA Delta II rocket delayed

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Friday, once again delayed the launch of SMAP to space.

The space agency’s Soil Moisture Active Passive satellite (SMAP) mission will now make another attempt to blast off atop a United Launch Alliance Delta II rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California on January 31, United Launch Alliance announced on Twitter:
