ISLAMABAD: Responding to the apology extended by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain, the Central Information Secretary of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shireen Mazari said the MQM Rabitta Committee should also apologise for its statements.
“According to Islam’s teachings whenever someone tenders apology it should be accepted,” Shireen Mazari said in a statement issued shortly after Altaf Hussain’s apology to her and the women attendees of the PTI sin-ins.
She warned of a strong reaction if anything similar to such disrespectful behaviour was repeated in future. However, she hoped that issuance of such derogatory statements would be avoided in future.
Meanwhile, she said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan would visit Sukkur on Wednesday.
Earlier, the tension between PTI and MQM leaders had escalated following tit-for-tat statements in the media.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan had lashed out at MQM Chief Altaf Hussain for his ‘derogatory’ statements targeting female PTI participants of the party’s sit-ins in Islamabad.
Imran Khan announced boycotting all the forums participated by MQM leaders and called upon the leaders and workers of Sindh’s second largest party to dissociate themselves from Altaf Hussain.
