Linking terrorism to seminaries not fair, says Sirajul Haq

KARACHI: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Sirajul Haq has said that some elements were defaming the seminaries in the cover of Peshawar carnage.

Speaking to media at Karachi airport, Sirajul Haq said, “the students getting education in Madrassas are our own children and linking these seminaries to terrorism is not right practice.”

JI Chief said terrorism is a national issue and whoever is involved in it he should be punished. He said his party had suggested for constitutional amendment, however, seminaries and sect should not be mentioned in the National Action Plan.

He said all the parties have given mandate to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for chalking out strategy against terrorism and now it depends on him how he takes advantage of this situation.

Siraj demanded that special budget should be announced for 3 million students of seminaries.
