Lahore petrol pumps closed for third day in a row

LAHORE: Petrol pumps in the provincial capital city here remained closed for the third consecutive day despite Punjab Law Minister, Rana Mashhood’s assurance on the contrary.

The vehicle owners were seen running from pillar to post for getting the empty tanks filled as all the petrol pumps have put up closed signs at the outlets covered with tarpaulins around.

On the other hand Lahore DCO, Captain (retired) Usman claimed that 5 million litres of petrol has arrived in the city since last night till this time as against 1.8 to 2 million litres of petrol consumption per day in the city.

Petrol pumps in the city was closed on Friday evening in view of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) expected protests and even on the third day today the situation remains the same piling miseries on the consumers.

Sources told that petrol is being sold at Rs150 per litre in some areas of the city due to acute shortage.
