Islamabad: Election Commission on Thursday said it is ready to conduct Senate elections as per the amended law even though the election schedule has already been issued.
According to reports that Senate elections will take place as per the amended law if the amendment to prevent ‘horse trading’ is passed. The amendment Act approved by the parliament will be conclusive for the Election Commission.
The publishing of ballots for the election will begin after February 28. As many as 1200 ballot papers will be published in total and the process of publish will take place again after the amendment.
If the amended Act approves open balloting, then an additional box of ‘Name’ will be added on the ballot paper.
