KARACHI: Home Secretary Sindh, Dr. Niaz Ali Abbasi has directed the Additional Inspector General Karachi Police to make extra ordinary security measures during the Holy month of Ramadan. This he directed in a letter issued today.
The Home Secretary directed to adopt fool proof security measures around the business centres, shopping malls, markets and banks. He further directed to the private security agencies to alert their guards during duty hours.
Special measures and deployment of personnel will not only discourage the criminals to strike at the public places but also be helpful to nab the outlaws on the spot, the Secretary concluded.
Rs. 666.500,000 PAYS AS SHAHEED/INJURY COMPENSATION DURING FINANCIAL YEAR 2013-14

KARACHI: Most of the cases pertaining to Police Shaheed / injury financial Assistance compensation have been disposed of and an amount of Rs=666,500,000 have been Paid, accordingly. During the financial year 2013-14, 327 families of police shuhada were paid Financial assistance amounting to Rs. 645,700,000 and 151 police injured compensated with an Amount up to the tone of Rs. 20, 800,000.
This was informed the IGP Sindh Iqbal Mahmood during his visit to 300 acre piece of land which has been identified for distribution among the legal heirs of police shaheeds. It was further informed that under the very scheme, the plots would be provided to almost all the families of police shaheeds, since 1990. IGP reviewed at length the progress of development work with related to the town planning and issued necessary instructions.
IGP also paid visit to 6 different identified sites of the development of 600 flats including Garden HQ Risala Police Lines, Nagina Police Lines, Qayyumabad base SRP, etc. It was informed that at each site 100 family flats have been planned to be constructed for residential accommodation of married police personnel only.
Iqbal Mahmood during the visit to Qayyumabad SRP-base II also apprised himself of the performance of SRP. DIG SRP Tahir Aslam briefed the chair about the functioning of SRP branch with special reference to operational effectiveness of Quick Response Force.
He said that the officers/personnel of QRF have been placed at the disposal of East, West and South Zones of Karachi for augmenting the efforts of Karachi Police in maintenance of Law and Order and crimes control.
He further informed about the deployment of SRP police on various Government/Semi Government buildings, vital installations, Consulates, etc as per the requirement and need of the District Police.
9TH MEETING OF SYNDICATE OF BBSUL TO BE HELD ON JULY, 5 2014

KARACHI: The 9th meeting of the syndicate of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari (BBSUL) will be held on July 5, 2014 in the senate Hall of the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari Karachi.
The revised Budget for 2013-14 and the estimated Budget for the year 2014-15 will be presented in the above said meeting. Also the increase the pay as has been announced by the Government of Sindh would also be placed in the meeting.
The meeting will be presided over by BBSUL Prof. Dr. Rashid A. Shah and the members are prof. Dr Usman Ali G. Isani, V.C Iqra University, Karachi Person of Eminence (Arts), Ms Sania Naz MPA, Mr. Muhammad Sajid Jokhio MPA, Mr. Muhammad Ali Malkani MPA, Prof.Dr.Islamil Brohi, Person of Eminence (Science), Moulana Zia-ud-din, representative of Aalim, Dr.Iqbal Hussain Lodhi, Principal Government Degree Science & Commerce College Lyari, Karachi, Dr. AHS Bukhari, representative of professors BBSUL, Mr. Munir Ahmed Abbasi representative of Lecturers BBSUL , Dr.Fazlullah Pechuhu, Secretary Education & Literacy Department Jahmshoro, Person of Eminence ( Professions ), Mr. Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi, Judge Sindh High Court Karachi Ms. Almas parveen, Senator (Nominee of the Chancellor as women representative ) Dr. Altaf Ali G.
