LAHORE: Funeral prayers were offered on Saturday afternoon for Mrs Muhammad Sharif, mother of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif at Chaklala Garrison.
President Mamnoon Hussain, ministers, parliamentarians and other important dignitaries all attended the prayers.
Namaz e Janaza of Mother of COAS Gen Raheel.Sharif and Maj Shabbir Sharif Nishan e Haider was held at Cavalry Ground Graveyard today afternoon. She expired during small hours today after cardiac arrest. She was admitted at AFIC Rawalpindi. The Namaz e Janaza at Lahore was attended by PM Nawaz Sharif, CM Shahbaz Sharif , Commander Lahore Corps Lieut Gen Naweed Zaman and senior serving and retired armed forces officers, troops of Lahore Garrison and relatives of the deceased. She was buried at Cavalry Ground graveyard where wreaths were laid and dua was offered to invoke Allah’s blessings for the departed soul. Qul ceremony will be held tomorrow 2.00 pm at Army Guest House Lahore Cantt. Quran Khawani and dua offered at 4.00 Pm.
