HYDERABAD (Nooriabad): Director General Frontier Works Organization (FWO) Lt Gen Muhammad Afzal said organization playing its vital role to make country a progressive and prosperous through available resources and proper sharing as strategic arms for socio-economic development for Pakistan.
Speaking to the inauguration of 75-km completed section-1Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway at Nooriabad, FWO Chief Lt Gen Muhammad Afzal said that FWO focus was on the development in provinces under CPEC objectives and established a trauma centre and school along with motorway.
FWO chief highlighted that it was the toughest project in FWO’s history as heavy traffic around 40,000 vehicles daily plied on this section during the construction work. He also mentioned a coordinative support and team work of Sindh government and National Highway Authority (NHA) in completion of the M-9 project on build-operate-transfer basis.
The DG FWO said under Public Private Partnership (PPP) the projects are vital for public and government to utilize resources without any burden on national exchequer and that process for country’s development is also continued with quality and on standard level, such struggle of FWO has made Pakistan’s image a positive and top among the countries.
Lt. General Muhammad Afzal disclosed that 136-kilometer-long road was the country’s lifeline and hub of economic prosperity due to its proximity with Kemari throughout country. He said 6 Lane Karachi to Hyderabad section of M-9 motorway has total of 4 sections including 10 interchanges – eight new and two old ones. He told that 4 interchanges and 5 bridges of section 1 opening today and 16 kilometer long bridge of Kotri will be completed next month of July 2017, while completion of other sections will be 14th August 2017.
