LARKANA: An awareness rally was taken out by district administration to control increasing incidents of drowning children here in Larkana.
The rally led by Deputy Commissioner Larkana Ghanwar Ali Leghari, the rally started from Rice Canal regulator and culminated at Chandka bridge, a large number of citizens, representatives of civil society participated in rally.
Speakers among DC Larkana Ghanwar Ali Leghari said that Rice Canal claims 10 to 15 innocent lives of children every year due to negligence, added that he has written a letter to Sindh government for
seeking imposition of section 144 on picnics and taking baths into Rice Canal, Ghar wah and Abro minor at regulator and other places.
He announced that 4 divers ( Rescue squad) will be appointed for 4 month by Municipal Corporation to avoid any untoward incidents added that violator will be dealt with stern legal action, he said.
Deputy Commissioner said that on the directives of MNA Faryal Talpur anti encroachment drive has been initiated in Larkana to remove the encroachments in different roads in order to avoid traffic problems,
it was dream of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto make Larkana like Paris which would be come true under the dynamic leadership and directives of MNA Faryal Talpur, he said.
On the occasion Deputy Commissioner Larkana urged upon the parents and representatives of civil society to play their national responsibility for administering anti Polio drops and Measles. Assistant Commissioner Larkana Masood Ahmed Bhutto, Mukhtiarkar Larkana Ghous Bux Jatoi, representatives of civil society, NGOs and other citizens participated in rally.
