Syed Aley Maqbool Rizvi, Chairman / Judge, Appellate Tribunal Local Councils Sindh is scheduled to hear appeals pertaining to Municipal Corporations, Municipal Committees, Town Committees, District Councils and Union Councils etc (Local Governments) of the Division Hyderabad fixed on 19th February 2015 at 9:00 a.m. He shall hold the Camp of the Tribunal at District & Sessions Court Hyderabad.

RECONSTRUCTION OF GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS IN GADAP AND BIN QASIM TOWNS OF KARACHI

The contract for package of schools in Karachi to be reconstructed under USAID Sindh Basic Education Program has been awarded to M/S Badar Engineering Works recently. The five government schools under this package including Government Boys Secondary School (GBSS) Damba Village Gadap Town, Government Boys Secondary School (GBSS) Cattle Colony Bin Qasim Town, Government Boys Elementary School (GBES) Waryo Gabol Gadap Town, Government Boys Primary School (GBPS) Yousuf Goth Gadap Town and Government Boys Primary School (GBPS) Sindhi Jamaat Cooperative Housing Society Bin Qasim Town. The first memorandum of understanding was signed for reconstruction of GBSS Damba Village in Gadap Town on 4th February 2015. The rest of the MOU ceremonies will be held in the remaining schools from February 6th to 12th February 2015 between School Management Committees and Badar Engineering Works facilitated by the Community mobilization program (CMP).
The new school buildings will consist of eight to twelve classrooms with school facilities such as Science and Computer Laboratory, Library, Staff room, Clinic and Playground with gated boundary wall. Sindh Community Mobilization Program (CMP), cornerstone of USAID Sindh Basic Education Program is facilitating School Management Committees (SMCs) consisting of head teachers, parents and elders of the community to sign Memorandum of Understanding with contractor for reconstruction of five government schools located in Gadap and Bin Qasim towns of Karachi. The Memorandum of Understanding will define the roles and responsibilities of both, the contractor and School Management Committees.
According to the details, USAID’s $155 million Sindh Basic Education Program implemented by the Government of Sindh’s Education and Literacy Department with an additional $10 million contribution from the Government of Sindh, is constructing up to 120 state –of – the art schools across 7 districts of Northern Sindh including Khairpur, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Dadu and Qambar Shahdadkot along with 5 towns of Karachi including Lyari, Kaemari, Orangi, Bin Qasim and Gadap. The mission is to increase and sustain enrollment of students in primary, middle and secondary schools by developing a school environment conducive to teaching and learning.
