KARACHI: Police on Thursday claimed to have killed seven militants, including a local al Qaida commander, during an encounter in Karachi.
Officials said the law-enforcers conducted an intelligence-driven raid in Madina Colony of Sohrab Goth locality during which terrorists opened fire on the police party.SP Malir, Rao Anwar, told Samaa correspondent that police returned fire and killed seven of the terrorists including their commander who was identified as Pervaiz. He claimed that all the militants were associated with Al Qaida.
The senior police officer said arms and explosives were also recovered from the terrorists who, according to him, were plotting a sabotage activity in Karachi.
