A JOINT MEETING OF POLICE AND CPLC

A joint meeting of police and CPLC was held today under the chairmanship of IGP Sindh, Mr. Ghulam Haider Jamali at CPO to review the progress on tasks assigned by the worthy IGP Sindh immediately after assuming office (July 16, 2014), to eliminate crime with the special emphasis on terrorism, kidnapping for ransom and extortion.
The chair was briefed that all flanks of operations police launched massive targeted operations, Sindh wide during which over 600 raids were conducted. 123 criminals were killed during 223 encounters with terrorists and hardened criminals during these raids.
The 123 outlaws killed included 32 terrorists, belonging to banned outfits, 88 dacoits, 2 Kidnappers and 1 extortionist. The Chair was informed that due to the proactive policing, the incidents of kidnapping for ransom have witnessed a sharp decline by up to 75 percent, a fact that was seconded by Mr. Ahmed Chenoi, Chief, CPLC based on the figures available with police and CPLC. It was also stated that the incidents of Extortion has been brought down by over 80% in the period under review.
The IGP Sindh showed his satisfaction over the co-ordination between all branches of Sindh Police for the achievement of desirable results and appreciated the selfless sacrifices laid down by the police. IGP also announced rewards for the police officers / police teams, whose performance was extraordinary. The meeting concluded with the resolve to continue the targeted operations with same zeal and vigor till the terrorism and crime is eliminated.
