RAWALPINDI/ PESHAWAR, Apr 22 (INP): At least 22 terrorists were killed in precision aerial strikes late Tuesday night in North Waziristan Agency.
An ISPR press release said the terrorists were killed in area ahead of Datta Khel in North Waziristan.
The latest aerial strikes are part of the military’s on-going Operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan Agency which began in June last year.
Several safe havens of terrorists were destroyed during air raids.
Scores of terrorists have been killed in the restive tribal areas since the launch of operation Zarb-e-Azb in June last year.
Meanwhile seven security personnel were injured during a clash in South Waziristan on Tuesday night.
According to a security official, militants attacked a checkpost in Ladha Tehsil’s area of Ziarat as a result of which seven security personnel sustained injuries.
The attack was successfully repulsed after which militant hide-outs were targeted with aerial strikes, security sources said.
In another incident last night, a group of militants from Afghanistan attacked the Nawa Pass security checkpost in Bajaur Agency.
The militants were successfully held off, however, two security personnel sustained injuries.
