Emirates Airlines suspends operations to Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Emirates International Airlines has suspended flights to and from Peshawar until further notice.

The Airline has taken this decision in light of the attack on a Pakistan International Airlines flight inbound from Riyadh in which a female passenger and steward lost their lives while another steward was injured, on Tuesday night.

The aircraft received fire from an as-yet unidentified location as it approached the runway for landing.

Sources add, that along with Emirates Airlines, another UAE based airline cancelled its flight to Peshawar today.

This comes in light of deteriorating law and order situation in Pakistan, where the country’s largest airport in Karachi was attacked only weeks ago by armed terrorists.
