PML-N lawyers forum office-bearer killed in Karachi

KARACHI: An office-bearer of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawyers’ forum has been killed in another incident of firing in Gulshan e Iqbal area of the metropolis on Thursday morning, increasing the death toll to 11.

According to the police, the latest incident took place in Gulshan e Iqbal Block 7 where four armed men opened fire at a car, killing a lawyer Syed Waqar Shah.

Earlier, unknown gunmen opened fire on a hotel in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, killing three students of a local seminary and injuring two others.

Two of the deceased were identified as Hayatullah and Ali Ahmed. Tension gripped the Gulistan-e-Jauhar and adjacent areas as armed men fired aerial shots and burnt tyres against the incident.

Ahle-Sunnat Wal Jamaat claimed that the dead and injured were their sympathizers. Earlier, unknown gunmen opened fire on a car near a private hospital, killing one and injuring another. The deceased was identified as Hyder Raza.

A man identified as Umar Farooqui was shot dead in Shah Faisal Colony area of the city.
