PM assures cooperation to emerging Afghan leadership

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Sunday congratulated the people of Afghanistan for holding the presidential election successfully and assured to continue cooperation for peace with the upcoming new leadership in Afghanistan.

In a statement issued here, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressed the hope that the peaceful transfer of power like Pakistan would also take place in Afghanistan. The presidential election would prove historic in the democratic transition of Afghanistan, he said.

PM Nawaz Sharif said that the election in Afghanistan would pave way for peace and stability in the region and hoped that democracy in Afghanistan would take roots.
