LARKANA/DADU: Hundreds employees and members of Pakistan WAPDA Hydro Electric Central Labour Union (PWHECLU) Larkana on central protest call, observed protest by closing SEPCO offices including Circle office, GSO, Revenue office, Field store, Computer center, operation sub divisions and others in Larkana division against the proposed privatization of Wapda here in front of old power house on Tuesday.
A large number of union workers were shouting the slogans against privatization of national institutions, including Wapda and others, and warned if the government did not change its plan, government will face massive protest and resistance.
The protest camp established outside the old power house Larkana was participated by SEPCO employees from Warah, Shahdadkot, Naudero, Ratodero, Miro Khan Dokri and other cities.
In Dadu, on central call of All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Union, Wapda employees held demonstration outside offices to protest against proposed privatization of Wapda and locked offices for three days in Dadu town on Tuesday.
Wapda employees carrying banners and pla cards inscribed with their demands, raised slogans against PML-N government for proposed privatization of Wapda. They were led by Muhammad Wariyal Mirani, Altaf Palh, Zameer Korejo and Hakim Ali Gopang.
Wapda employees demanded from President of Pakistan, Prime minister of Pakistan and Federal minister for water and power not to privatize Wapda.
Wapda employees also held protest rallies against government for proposed privatization of Wapda in Mehar, Khairpur Nathan Shah, Johi, Bhan Sayedabad and Sehwan sharif towns.
Speaking on the occasion Regional Chairman Nisar Ahmed Shaikh, Khalid Chandio, Abdullah Soomro, Ghazi Khan Lashari, Khalid Soomro and others said that he government should immediately cancel its plans for privatization and avoid introducing anti employees policies.
They alleged that the government was following the dictation from IMF which completely destroyed the Wapda and paralyzed the power generation companies, added that the Wapda was being privatized under the guise of loss which was highly condemnable.
They warned that the workers would let no one to privatize Wapda as thousands of their fellows had sacrificed their lives to establish this network.
They pointed out that the appointment of ineligible, nonprofessional and blue-eyed persons as the heads of distribution companies have delivered serious harm to Wapda.
They appealed to Supreme Court of Pakistan to take notice of governments intentions to privatize this strategic asset and issue order for halting of this process.
LARKANA: A large number of employees of Larkana Development Authority (LDA) staged demonstration against non provision of 13 months salaries here in front of Larkana Press Club on Tuesday.
Hafeez Chandio, Mahboob Bhutto, Feroz Gul and others by carrying banners and placards shouted slogans and calling for early release of their salaries.
They told media men that concerned authorities have failed to address problems of poor employees of LDA, families of employees are facing the starvation and hardships due to poverty and withheld of salaries.
They alleged that former Secretary LDA Larkana Noor Nabi Shaikh is responsible of present crises and was involved in irregularities of millions rupees from 2008 to 2014, sent several employees on visas and damaged the institution.
They demanded of high ups to take notice of matter, conduct an inquiry of misuse of funds, corruption of former LDA officials and release withheld salaries of poor employees and address their issue, otherwise they will continue their struggle till the acceptance of their demands.
LARKANA: An Anti Terrorist Court (ATC) issued black warrant for execution of one prisoner of Central Jail Larkana on 3rdMarch 2015.
Munwar Ali Narejo son of Hakim Ali Narejo was sentenced to death by an Anti Terrorist Court Sukkur in 2004 on killing of three persons after kidnapping for ransom in the jurisdiction of Golo Daro Police Station of Shikarpur district in 2001, convicted prisoner had sent mercy appeal to President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain which was rejected.
After refusal of mercy appeal, ATC Shikarpur issued the black warrants for prisoner told Superintendent Central Jail Larkana to carry out the hanging under the supervision of a Judicial magistrate after the fulfilling legal formalities, the court told jail officials to send convict to the gallows in the early hours of March
