KHAIRPUR: One brother get life imprisonment other get ten year jail in murder case on Saturday.
According to detail 1st additional district and session judge Khairpur Naveed Hussain Kolachi announced the murder case of late yar Muhammad and on proved the murder convicted life imprisonment to accused Malhar alias Mehal s/o Essa Kalhoro and imposed fine of Rs 50000/=, while in same case court awarded ten years imprisonment to his brother Bahadur s/o Essa Kalhoro and also imposed fine of Rs. 50000/= upon them and send them to jail cutody.
They were alleged that they killed a villager Yar Muhammad Metlo at village Qadan Metlo during the resistance of cattle theft in the jurisdiction of Ahmedpur police station on 27 Feburary -2012.

KHAIRPUR: The 76th meeting of Syndicate of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur was held on Saturday, which was presided over by Prof. Dr. Parveen Shah, Vice Chancellor, SALU
Dr. Parveen Shah briefed the syndicate members about the research and developmental activities of the University. She revealed that number of MoUs have been signed with the international universities, various degree programs are being accredited. Dr. Shah said, “We are firmly committed to produce highly qualified graduates, who will render their services for the cause of humanity.”
On this occasion, the syndicate members loaded the efforts of Dr. Parveen Shah for the promotion of research culture at campus.
The Syndicate, various decisions were made in which including the budget for the financial year 2014-15 of Rs. 1341 million, with deficit of 158 million was passed, annual report 2013-14 was also passed.
The member unanimously approved for the establishment of Shah Abdul Latif Chair in order to embark upon the research work on the life of great Sufi Saint Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (R.A).
Prof. Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh, Prof. Dr. Amir Ali Chandio, Prof. Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Hassan Khaskheli were appointed as chairmen Departments of Computer Science, Political Science, Teacher Education and Biochemistry respectively while Various educational institutions were allowed affiliation i-e. Al-Falah Law College, Kashmore, Govt. Degree College, Madeji, Govt. Hyder Bux Jatoi Memorial College, Dokri, Govt. Girls Degree College, Pir Jo Goth, Qazi Mian Ahmed Qureshi Law College, Moro.
The 50 acres piece of land was also allotted for the purpose of housing society for employees. Rs. 1500 to Rs. 2000 were allowed to all employees working in BPS-17 to BPS-22 as telephone allowance.
The recommendations of last selection board which was held on 24th October, 2014 were also approved. Dr. Tajnees Pirzada, and Dr. Khalida Parveen Mahar was promoted in BPS-21 as Professor and Dr. Shamroz Bano Sahito was promoted in BPS-20 as Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry. Dr. Mir Mohammad Ali Talpur, Department of Microbiology and Dr. Soofia Khushk, Department of Urdu were promoted in BPS-20 as Associate Professor.
Ms. Tasleem Alam Abro, Department of Archaeology, Ms. Samina Rajpar, Department of Computer Sciences, Mr. Noor Hassan Chandio, Department of Geography, Mr. Abdul Sami Shaikh, Department of Pharmacy, Mr. Farman Ali Mangi and Ms. Zubeda Bhatti, Department of Physics, Mr. Zahoor Ahmed Soomro, Department of Public Administration, and Ms. Agha Nadia Pathan, Department of Archaeology were promoted in BPS-19 as Assistant Professor.
Mr. Ghulam Ali Keerio, Ms. Firdous Bugti, Mr. Zahid Hussain Shah, Mr. Ghulam Murtaza Langah and Ms. Farzana Jabeen Khoso were appointed as Lecturer in BPS-18 in the Department of Teacher Education.

GHOTKI: Sindh Punjab Broder Kamu Shaheed near Ubaro blocked due to sit-in against privatization of OGDCL, here on Saturday.
According to reports, Hundreds of workers of labour union OGDCL Qadirpur field demonstrated a sit-in at Sindh Punjab border and blocked National Highway for three hours to record their peaceful protest against the privatization of OGDCL.
Niaz Kalani JSQM leader, Jam Fatah Samejo central vice president STP and others lead the protest and announced to conduct peaceful protest in front of National Assembly Islamabad on 29-October.

US US Consulate visits Sukkur IBA

SUKKUR: USAID Cathy Moore, Deputy Mission Director USAID Leon S. Waskin, PoI/Econ Chief US Consulate Chad Peterson, Cultural affairs officer US consulate Karachi Li Ping Lo and other officials visited Sukkur IBA and interacted with students and faculty.
The Registrar Zahid Hussain Khand and other senior management received the delegation and visited Academic block, Knowledge Center and Centre for Entrepreneurship and Business Incubation, where they were given briefing about Sukkur IBA, its past accomplishments and Future Projects by Director Career Development Center Dr Sher Muhammad Daudpota, said press release here on Friday.
Mr Brian during his interaction inquired from students about their stay at Sukkur IBA, their life experiences and their views about the future and how they would like to contribute for the betterment of society.
While appreciating the ratio of females at Sukkur IBA he emphasized on the role of females and encouraged them to come forward and play their part in contributing towards better Pakistan. In reply to a question he spoke about different projects in the areas of health, education and infrastructure which either are in progress or are in pipeline. He was thoroughly impressed with the infrastructure of Sukkur IBA and appreciated the efforts of management for providing world class facilities to the under privileged students of Pakistan
After interacting session with students Member of Governing body of Sukkur IBA and Managing Director Continental Biscuits Limited Prince, Hasan Ali Khan gave a vote of thanks and appreciated the support by the U.S. government and USAID.
He said that Sukkur IBA is the only institute that is imparting quality to all those deprived students who could not afford to attend good educational institutes.
He praised director Sukkur IBA Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui and the management for their tireless efforts to make Sukkur IBA an educational institute whose core values are merit, quality and excellence.
He also appraised Talent Hunt Program, a signature program initiated by Sukkur IBA to upgrade the level of student from poor educational background.

JACOBABAD: Complete shutter down strike was observed in district Jacobabad on the call of JUI leader Fazal Ur Rehaman here on Friday.
According to details all the business centers of district Jacobabad including Jacobababd, Thull, Garhi Khairo, Dodapur, Jehanpur, Bahoo Khoso, Karem Bux remained closed on the strike call of JUI-F after terrorist attack on JUI head Moulan fazal Rehaman on Thursday at Quetta.

While talking with media men GSTA leaders Rashid Hussain Shah district president, Muhammad Bachal Abro General secretary, Abdul shakoor Soomro, Gulsher Mahar and others have condemned the notification and termed it as an action against the basic rights of the secondary teachers community.
However the GSTA leaders have demanded of secretary education sindh for withdrawal of the notification in the interest of the secondary teachers.
On the other hand they threatened to launch their serious protest movement in the province till the acceptance of the demands.

The applicants of the Mill road Qaidabad when received no positive response by the authorities in the favor of their demands stepped ahead & filed their application in the court of Director Human Rights/Session Judge, Badin against the injustice of Public Health department.
In the application, applicant, Roshan Ali alleged the mentioned department that there is no any drainage system facility in Qaidabad Badin area, no any cleanness is being done in their area consequently children are being succumbed of various diseases & others.
After receipt the application, Director Human Rights & Session Judge Badin has directed the opponents to appear before the court for their responses & more hearing.

SENIOR JOURNALIST DIED IN ROAD MISHAP.

SHIKARPUR: The senior Journalist and the former voice president of shikarpur press club Irshad Ahmed thaheem, 68, was expired in the collision between the tractor tralee and the motorcar near Jara Waah on Shikarpur-Sukkur National high way road within the jurisdiction of Lakhi Ghulam Shah police station here on Saturday evening.
Deceased journalist was on the way along with his wife Ms Shamshad Begum, son Muhassan Ali and daughter in law Ms Kaneez Fatima in a motorcar from Hyderabad to shikarpur after attending walima of marriage when the ill-fated car collided with tractor trolley on the road in which they all the family members were seriously injured.
After the accident the tractor driver while leaving his tractor trolley on the road ran away.
The injured were referred to sukkur Hira hospital where the journalist Irshad Ahmed Thaheem was succumbed to his injures. While the condition of the other injured family members and a driver is reported out of danger.
It may be recalled that the marriage of the injured Muhassan Ali son of deceased Irshad Ahmed Thaheem with injured Ms Kaneez Fatima was recently held some 12 days ago in shikarpur.
The special condolence meeting was held by journalist at press club shikarpur here to express their condolence with the aggrieved brothers, sons and other family members on the said demise of journalist Irshad Ahmed Thaheem.
