CHITRAL: At least four persons died and one seriously injured when a truck fell into gorge near here on Monday.
According to police, a truck, loaded with marble, was on way to Chitral when it fell into a deep gorge near Mushlak. As a result, four persons including the driver were died on the spot and another man was injured.
Local people and police rushed to the scene and retrieved the bodies and injured from the wreckage. The injured and bodies were shifted to DHQ Hospital Chitral where condition of the injured was stated to be serious.
The police said that the bodies of the deceased were handed over to their relatives after fulfilling legal formalities. Three of the deceased were from Ghazay village Chitral, while the driver belonged to district Dir.
Cause behind the tragic incident was stated to be over speeding, due to which, the driver failed to negotiate a sharp turn and the vehicle fell into a deep gorge.
