City plunged into darkens, 100 million Solar Energy Street lights go-waste in Larkana

Likewise failures of other mega projects, home-town of founder PPP Z. A Bhutto and slain former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto plunged into the darkness due to heavy corruption and mismanagement in 100 million Solar Energy Street lights scheme.
According to reports, the city had plunged into the darkness for a year back, due to administration apathy; there is a complete failure of mega scheme launched to install solar energy streets lights in Larkana city in previous PPP led government worth about Rs 950 million.
The Larkana yet to be a Paris or dream of Bhutto still idealism, inefficiency of administration and misuse of funds for all the mega schemes the city plunged into the darkness, which once the night crime reaching its peak at night.
The contracts of Solar Energy Street light in 2011 was awarded on favoritism to inexperienced PPP workers and former President of Chambers of Commerce & Industry Larkana to install such kinds of Energy Street lights in Larkana city 317, Ratodero 144, Naudero 156 numbers to overcome the load shedding issues and or saving of utility bills etc.
On the occasion, inexperienced companies Om Parkash, Khawar Electric and others were assigned task to install Energy Street lights scheme for the years to brighten the city of Larkana, but it is irony that such companies were failed to provide quality and sub-standard equipments with dry batteries installation at all parts, resulted the city plunged in to the darkens before the completion of scheme.
During installation and after completion several Solar Energy Street lights were remained out of order and the scheme completed on 2013 by the district building department and it was failed to light/brightness all the parts, but the city remained under the darkness. Then AEN District Building Department Shamshad Shaikh had told that the said project handed over to the TMA for further maintenance but they failed to take the issues he told.
Besides, after failure of Solar Energy Street lights Sindh government approved more funds Rs. 5 million for Taluka Municipal Corporation Larkana to further installation of electricity street lights in 2014. But Larkana Municipal Administration did nothing to mitigate the problems of home town of Shaheed Z. A Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and dragged into the darkness for couple of years reports said.
While, SEPCO officials among Executive Engineer Mushtaq Burdi told that TMA Larkana is the defaulter of 900 million and SEPCO has disconnect electricity of several Larkana parks including Zulfikar Bagh, Jinnah Bagh, Bakhtawar Park, Shahnawaz Park and street lights for the years.
Whereas, TMA failed to provide services to the citizens and it is now minting mines agency of corrupt sitting officials politically and the monthly OZT budget is over 44 million of Taluka Municipal Larkana confirmed the reports.
When contacted the concerned Municipal Commissioner Abdul Hameed Pathan about the issues, but he was not responding the phone regularly. It is unfortunate that District Administration Larkana and other authorities concerned are turned their deaf ears to take action against the TMA and redress the public issues and darkness of the city.
On the occasion, the citizens of Larkana will perform this Holy Eid festival under the darkness due to incompetent officials and present government. The citizens and civil society has appealed to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Chief Justice Supreme Court, NAB, DG Rangers, CM Sindh and others to take notice of mega corruptions in Larkana to restore street lights and other basic facilities.

ALLEGED POLICE ENCOUNTER, DACOIT KILLED

A dacoit identified as 32-years old Asif Kakepoto was killed in an encounter at Koreja morr in the jurisdiction of Garhi Yasin police station on Sunday early in the morning.
According to Station House Officer (SHO) Muhammad Nawaz Mulahan after receiving the information that some group of dacoits were standing on the Indus highway Shikarpur-Larkana road intention of road robbery at Koreja morr when who saw the police party coming towards them they opened fire, on retaliatory firing one dacoit was killed on the spot and his other companions managed to their good escape of taking the benefit of darkness.
Police have recovered one Kalashnikov and good number bullets of the possession of the deceased dacoit.
The deceased dacoit was wanted to police in seven heinous crimes including murder, road robberies and others registered at Garhi Yasin police station, police said.
Area police shifted the dead body of the deceased dacoit to Taluka Headquarter (THQ) Hospital for conducting post-mortem examination.
After receiving the information of the police encounter the heirs women of the deceased dacoit including Mst Safia, Mst Husina, Sahiba and others staged a protest demonstration out side of Garhi Yasin press club against police and said that deceased Asif Kakepoto was working as a police constable in Karachi police since long but he was absent from their duty for two years due to personal enmity and they allegedly said that police have arrested him two days ago along with his two other relatives including Gulzar Kakepoto and Deedar Kakepoto from village Maroon Kakepota.
Protester women further said that police have killed our youth in fake an encounter today early in the morning.
On the occasion protester women demanded to authorities concerned to take notice of the fake an encounter and provide due justice otherwise they threatened to accelerate their protest circle.
First Information Report (FIR) registered on the behalf of state of Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Bashir Ahmed at Garhi Yasin police station.
Till filling of this news story the dead body of the deceased had kept in Taluka Headquarter (THQ) Hospital Garhi Yasin.

Water level at Guddu Barrage rising gradually

Water level at Guddu Barrage is gradually on the rise, several villages are expected to become under water while no satisfactory arrangements are still carried out to face the upcoming monsoon.
According irrigation sources, water level Guddu Barrage upstream was recorded at 213392 cusecs and downstream at 192392 cusec.
Several nearest villages to Guddu Barrage including Jagan Khan Mazari, Qabol Khan Waghru, and Abdul rahman Wagro are on risk of being under water soon but no security arrangements are made by the government of Sindh.

Rangers’ vehicle fall into canal, 3 injured

Rangers’ vehicle fell into canal near Daharki on Sunday.
According to reports, vehicle full of Fangers’ personnel fell into Dahar Wah canal resulting three Fangers’ personnel received minor injuries. Over the information, contingent from Rangers District headquarter reached on the spot and commenced rescue operation. While media persons were prohibited for the coverage.
